Roxette: Live In Concert 2025

The sold-out Melbourne concert was full of Roxette fans of all ages, ready to dance, sing and fill the Melbourne venue with their shared elation. Gessle wowed the patrons with his gorgeous collection guitars and commanding stage presence, Philipsson stunned Roxette fans with her friendly charm, dazzling smile and strong vocals, and the rest of the touring band each took turns to show off their skills with passion and precision, all while being super interactive with their loving Melbourne audience. The audience felt like an extension of the band, gleefully singing and clapping along, regardless of whether prompted by the band or not. Everyone was ready to party and were just happy for Roxette to be touring again.

Lime Cordiale

Despite the agreeable beer garden aesthetic that Lime Cordiale maintain so effortlessly, the pop-rock band’s passion for theatrics, humour, and crowd work means they are equally well-equipped to handle enormous crowds.

This was on full display at John Cain Arena this week (October 8th), as they ticked off the Melbourne box of their Australia and New Zealand tour.

Dawn French

PHASESHIFT LIGHT ‘DAWN FRENCH IS A HUGE TWAT’

English comedian and actor Dawn French has just wound up a highly successful tour of Australia with her Dawn French Is A Huge Twat show.

During the show, Dawn reveals many of the excruciating gaffes and howlers she’s made across her forty-year career as a comedian and actress. The stage and lighting may, at first glance, appear simple but it is a work of precision. Central to the stage design is the large projection screen, showing a combination of of some her TV clips and old footage from her many years in her career. She interacts with the screen quite regularly during her performance.

For the Australian tour, Phaseshift Productions supplied the lighting and crew. Alex Saad is touring as Lighting Director and this is his third Australian/ New Zealand tour with Dawn.

“Giant antique stage lights beam down with their warm, steady light as Ellis moans into the f-hole on his violin to simulate that usual moan and wail of his strings in the studio version. Little bulbs flash and flicker about the stage like fireflies before the Enmore stage lights explode into white pulsating wonder. In the despairing depths of the song, some inkling of hope emerges that Ellis describes as “you climb[ing] out of the hole and see three little angels - cherubs - named Warren, Mick and Jim.””
